Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking a Calibration Technician.

Description: As a Software Engineering Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in coordinating with global stakeholders and leading a team of remote developers in delivering efficient and effective inline metrology software products according to project and sprint goals.

Summary

Oversees the calibration and certification of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Portable product line and scanners to applicable standards. Manages and schedules inspections and calibrations on highly specialized equipment.Identifies faulty equipment and suggests upgrades when necessary. Works quickly and methodically to ensure equipment is safe for operation and calibrated to the industry standards.

Job Responsibilities

* Understands the Metrology Portable Service ISO 17025 Quality Systems

* Performs accurate, correct, and repeatable calibrations of customer equipment to appropriate standards

* Document and report results, provide certification traceable to N.I.S.T and ISO 17025 standards

* Manages/schedules maintenance on company equipment ensuring it is in good working order

* Ensures equipment selected for use is calibrated and current

* Has a complete understanding of SMax and can complete SMax calibration reports

* Document calibration process and prepare reports, as required

* Performs calibration and approves products and accessories that meet tolerances and product specifications

* Oversee/schedules repair and calibration of assessment tools and measurement of equipment

* Oversees the administration of all calibration methods and procedures

* Coordinates and manages workload to achieve production schedules and ensure completion within timeframe

* Oversee and ensures all documentation applicable for various assignments are prepared

* Monitors and ensures all business tasks within timeframe and ensures optimal quality

* Manages and develops all reports and certificates pertaining to calibration

* Schedules tooling equipment to be inspected and calibrated using electronic and pressure equipment

* Point of contact for departments needing precision equipment issues resolved and repaired

* Gathers and documents data records related to calibration

* Drafts and creates/updates process and procedure manuals for Manager approval

* Assigned to support products that are complex and/or critical in nature

* Maintains thorough knowledge of company's products and understanding of structure

* Remains current with industry trends and best practices

* Assigned a team lead role for a work group performing large scale complex project related tasks

* Remains current with skills by attending training classes, independent research, and seminars as needed

* Mentors less experienced Calibration Technicians' developing their skill/knowledge through advice, coaching, and training opportunities

* Performs other duties as assigned

  • Frequently in a stationary position for long periods of time; occasional bending/kneeling
  • Manual dexterity required for keyboard use, operating office equipment, grasping objects

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and adjust focus
  • Frequently communicates with other employees and customers
Work Environment:

  • Primarily an office setting with occasional visits to the factory floor
  • Office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated
  • Office noise levels are considered low to moderate
  • Factory noise levels are considered moderate
  • If required, PPE will be provided
  • No travel required
Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 - 3 years of related experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in Calibration of PCMM's and/or Machine repair
  • Experience using hand tools
  • Understanding of SMax
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail, organized and self-motivated
  • Works under moderate direction as well as in a team environment
