Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

This position is hybrid with the primary location being in Detroit, however, the position will also require occasional travel to various medical centers to conduct investigations and training. The Compliance Site Manager is responsible for managing the implementation of the HFHS Compliance Program at the assigned hospital(s) and operating unit(s). The Compliance Site Manager's general duties and responsibilities encompass implementing the HFHS Compliance Program systems, policies and practices, which are designed to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulatory standards and HFHS policies, and otherwise implementing the Compliance Program Charter authorized by the Board of Trustees, Audit and Compliance Committee. Participates in the on-going development of the Compliance Program as assigned. The Compliance Site Manager reports directly to the Director of Market Compliance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree required; compliance certification preferred.
  • Five years of experience in healthcare compliance matters, preferably for a large, multi-hospital healthcare organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in healthcare compliance program operations and healthcare investigations.
  • A working knowledge of the federal and state healthcare laws and regulatory standards underlying healthcare billing, stakeholder relationships and other relevant subject matters.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert in conducting an attentive and objective interview.
  • Clear, concise and persuasive writer and presenter.
  • Ability to interact and work effectively with all levels of workforce.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Well-prepared and thorough with the ability to perform tasks with diligence and attention to detail.
  • Ability to accept delegation, make decisions and take initiative.
  • Well-developed consensus-building and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to inspire confidence in others and establish a sense of common direction and vision.
  • Ability to motivate others to promote an accountable, transparent and ethical business culture.
  • High personal and professional integrity, yet sensitive to the proper operational and business concerns of workforce members.
  • Skilled in the use of information systems and databases, particularly Microsoft Office Suite applications and healthcare information systems.
