GENERAL FUNCTION: Responsible for sampling Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and alerted activity in accordance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements, regulatory expectations, and to ensure compliance with internal standards. Works both independently and within teams to conduct complex data analysis and identify, assess, and mitigate financial crimes risk. Execute policy and procedures to meet the bank's compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Banks risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
BANK SECRECY ACT REQUIREMENTS: Responsible for adhering to the reporting and record keeping requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering rules and regulations, complying with economic sanctions by prohibiting transactions as specified by the U.S's Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Canada's Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), following the bank's customer identification program (CIP) rules, observing all Bank policies and procedures relating to BSA, OFAC, CIP, and related acts, and participation in ongoing related training.
