Job Description

TEAM MEMBER, LEAR GRATIOT PLANT

STARTING RATE - 17.50/hour + .50 cents an hour for shift premium for 2nd shift

Job Statement: As a member of the Operations team, the Team Member will be responsible for performing all jobs in the work cell to build quality seats in an efficient manner. As a Team Member, you support department and plant goals as established, participate in continuous improvement activities and the high performing work team model.

Essential Job Functions:

People:

  • Assure safety standards are followed at all times, report all accidents and near misses
  • Identify safety issues and help resolve concerns
  • Reliability: Being reliable means that you can be trusted to do your work correctly with minimal supervision or direction. You can figure out solutions on the without needing to turn to your Supervisor or Team Leader every time and can be trusted to get the work done and to keep your schedule by being physically present.

Quality:

  • Drive 5S in the area and hold others accountable to 5S World Class Housekeeping standards
  • Identify scrap, defect or quality issues as they appear
  • Ensure we do our work, the right way the first time to deliver the right quality to our customer
  • Drive to resolve quality issues and review quality alerts and metrics
  • Read Liaison reports to make improvements and correct issues
  • Complete all repairs they can in station
  • Ensure poka-yokes in place

Process:

  • Assure safety, quality, production and work standards are always followed
  • Drive, contribute to and fully support continuous improvement suggestions and projects
  • Adhere to and measure line KPI's
  • Inspect equipment, tools, structures, or materials to identify repair needs or other problems or defects
  • Learn and rotate through all the tasks in the team cell
  • Drive to meet/exceed line efficiency targets to ensure customer delivery is achieved

Required Physical Abilities:

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and/or move objects heavy objects
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods of time and operate pneumatic tools
  • Physical ability to make fast, simple repetitive movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
