What you'll do

In this role within the AlixPartners Information Technology - Infrastructure Applications team, the Infrastructure Applications Senior Engineer will provide software and hardware problem incident resolution for issues escalated from the Service Desk and other IT teams, communicating these technical solutions in a customer-friendly, professional manner.

The Infrastructure Applications Senior Engineer is a full-time role reporting to the Infrastructure Applications Manager and located in Southfield, MI. Paid relocation is not available.

  • Perform daily systems management and tuning, including maintenance and trend analysis of the data center infrastructure.
  • Provide day-to-day technical, administrative, and functional support for the various infrastructure systems.
  • Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of System Center, Microsoft 365, Intune, Proofpoint, Microsoft Exchange.
  • Participate in the configuration and setup of technology resources.
  • Provide efficient communication, documentation, and training of our solutions to necessary parties.
  • Deliver elevated IT support to different teams for all supported Enterprise Applications Services
  • Share responsibilities for implementation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of Enterprise Applications.
  • Identify areas of improvement regarding end-user experience from a design standpoint.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred but may consider relevant work experience in lieu of education.
  • Minimum three (3) years of work experience.
  • Knowledge or experience with System Center, Microsoft 365, Intune, Proofpoint, and Microsoft Exchange.
  • Application packaging knowledge or experience i.e. Advanced Installer.
  • Certification in at least one technical product set preferred (Intune, Microsoft 365, System Center, etc.).
  • Scripting knowledge - PowerShell preferred.
  • Knowledge of customer service practices; beneficial to have worked in an ITIL based environment.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English, demonstrating a high level of confidentiality and customer focus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; must be able to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency in a complex and changing working environment.
  • Ability to maintain composure during urgent, high-demand situations.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
