Job Description

Henry Ford Hospital - Jackson is seeking a board certified/board eligible Pediatric Hospitalist to join a physician led organization in a community practice.

Henry Ford Hospital -Central Market, Jackson, Michigan, is about 55 minutes from the Detroit Airport, 77 minutes to Henry Ford Main, and 40 minutes from Ann Arbor, home of the Big Ten University of Michigan. We merged with Henry Ford Health Systems (HFHS -Detroit Area) in 2016. Henry Ford Hospital Central Market entered our 100th year May 2018. The merger with Henry Ford Health System is very exciting for Henry Ford Hospital- Jackson and our community. Henry Ford Health System has allowed us the support to construct an innovation center (adding State of Art Simulation & Research Labs / May 2017), a Surgical Patient Tower that added 66 private rooms Fall 2018, and to implement EPIC house wide (INPT & OUTPT) in 2016.

Clinical responsibilities include delivery attendance with resuscitation, care of healthy newborns, care of hospitalized children up to 18 years of age, and providing consults in the ED. Additional duties include providing day-to-day management of babies in the Special Care Nursery - a Level 2 nursery caring for infants with prematurity (>/= 32 weeks' gestation), low birth weight (>1500 gm), feeding disturbances, respiratory distress, infectious diseases, congenital heart disease, and/or other anomalies, and other common neonatal problems.

Procedures performed include circumcisions, umbilical central lines, lumbar punctures, frenelectomies, intubations, and emergent needle decompression of pneumothorax.

Responsibilities will include direct patient care, as well as opportunities for educating medical students, transitional year interns, and Family Medicine residents. This position is solely inpatient. Hospitalists work 12-hour shifts in-house on a rotating schedule. Fellowship training is not required.
