Lead Vehicle Cyber Security Engineer

Job Description Summary

The Lead Vehicle Cyber Security Engineering provides direction and leadership to create and implement cybersecurity solutions into an embedded controller or inverter. They will perform security analyses, write and decompose product requirements, and design architectural level solutions for the implementation of cyber related code solutions.

Job Description

  • Derive cyber security system requirements specifications and system architectures.
  • Develop cyber security concepts
  • Main customer technical interface for cyber security topics supporting the analysis and definition of requirements for embedded system (Hardware and Software), taking advanced state of the art solutions in embedded systems security;
  • Documentation on system level related to Cyber Security;
  • Perform vulnerability analyses and TARAs (threat analysis and risk assessment)
  • Strongly interact with software development, hardware development, testing, and production to ensure a common understanding of the cyber security threats, risks, features, and a smooth implementation
  • Support security-related customer milestones and assessments
  • Analyze tools for and results of secure code analyzers, static code analyzers, and other tools
  • Ability to analyze threat and vulnerability information to prioritize for current and future architectures

Required Skills and Education

Required Skills:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Very good understanding of Automotive embedded systems and their interaction with other systems throughout the lifecycle (production, operation in the vehicle, maintenance, post SOP support, ...)
  • Expertise applying and tailoring existing security practices such as the Cyber Security Standards (ISO 21434, SAE J3061), vulnerability management standards
  • Knowledge of different authentication techniques for embedded devices;
  • Knowledge of different attack vectors for embedded devices, previous pen test work is desirable;
  • Knowledge of mitigation techniques for embedded devices.
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 and functional safety
  • Ability to develop and explain technical decisions and recommendations effectively with technical and non-technical audiences through verbal and written communications that lead to actionable and measurable improvements
  • Proven ability to perform meticulous work with careful attention to detail but performed in a very fast-paced and exciting environment to identify threats, defects and weaknesses in complex systems, and to identify process improvement opportunities
