HDR is looking for an I&C Engineer to join our rapidly growing team of Power professionals. As a I&C Engineer, you will be joining a highly capable, multi-discipline team that supports power and energy projects with the industrial, institutional, IPP and utility power and energy industry.

In the role of Instrumentation Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Coordinate workload through design development and construction document phases to complete documents on schedule
  • Conduct systems integration of the I&C system, including programming of PLCs/PCs and HMI customizing for various control software programs
  • Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
  • Write and edit I&C specifications, and select equipment and monitoring/control devices
  • Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents
  • Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed
  • Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this position
  • Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed
  • Provide construction contract administration as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • PLC/WTP and WWTP software programming experience
  • Hands-on experience designing I&C Systems, including schematics and loops
  • Experience managing I&C projects
  • Knowledge of Modicon, Wonderware and Interlution
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Instrumentation & Control Engineer within either the power, industrial, water or process industry.
  • Field experience, including startup and commissioning, experience is desired
  • Position will include an expectation of less than 15% travel for meetings with clients and vendors as well as project site visits.
